Early retirement five year update

A man describes his experience with early retirement. The entire thing is worth reading, but summary is:

• He plans out early retirement with his wife
• First year or two is great, he travels a lot
• Second year, he notices many of his friends (who still work) have lost interest in talking to him
• Also around the second or third year, his wife starts to lose interest in him (implied)
• Throughout this time he is "writing", but not having much traction or success
• Third year, wife becomes more and more unhappy
• Fourth year, he develops Ehlers-Danlos-Syndrome
• Also fourth year, his wife finds a new guy and they break up
• Fifth year, he gets a job again
• Eventually he ends up with new girl who reads his blog about financial independence
